Praise - 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes

The rain falls. The clouds cover the sky. The sun doesn't give off any warmth.

Yet, there's reason to praise.

The baby doesn't want to sleep. The older sister keeps taking his toys. There's more screaming than anything else.

Yet, there's reason to praise.

The words don't seem to come. They're lost somewhere between all that needs to get done. The page is empty.

Yet, there's reason to praise.

The news constantly brings heartache and pain. It all seems too much.

Yet, there's reason to praise.

The dishes are scattered and dirty. The dressers covered in dust. The laundry in piles.

Yet, there's reason to praise.

It's another day. The rain nourishes the earth. The newly turned leaves fall to the ground. The world is beautiful.

Yes, there's reason to praise.

The baby reaches his hands to me and wants to be held. He cuddles close to me. The older sister keeps asking if he's okay. She leans over to kiss him.

Yes, there's reason to praise.

There's time to write. The gift of waiting for inspiration. The words are waiting to be unearthed and put on paper.

Yes, there's reason to praise.

The news tells of people doing good and bringing hope. There are people who look out for the neighbor.

Yes, there's reason to praise.

The house is full of kissses and cuddles, playtime, and games. A family surrounded in love.

Yes, there's reason to praise.

**All month I'll be participating in 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes. Each day I'll take some time (sometimes 5 minutes and sometimes a little more) to sit down and write. It's about the discipline of writing each day. It's about listening to the words from within. It's about letting creativity work in me. I'll share my writing at some point during the day on my blog. Thanks for reading.
